OEAP Educational Visit Co-ordinator (EVC)

This is a one day certificated course covering the management checks and procedures for off-site visits recommended by national guidance and the local authority.

The course is relevant to people fulfilling the Educational Visit Co-ordinator (EVC) role in their school or establishment.

Course Outcomes:
- Identify benefits and barriers and the EVC's role in promoting offsite visits.
- Present a legal framework and the importance of following employer guidance.
- EVC responsibilities and the competence of staff.
- Key procedures for planning, leading and evaluating off-site visits

It has been developed in partnership by the Scottish Government, the Scottish Advisory Panel for Outdoor Education, the Health and Safety Executive, Education Scotland and the Association of Directors of Education, with input from other partners, voluntary organisations and providers.
